Proxying Through Cloudflare Fails with Subdomains

I’m new to proxying and I’ve set up my main site (hosted through Bluehost) to be proxied by Cloudflare. The nameservers point to Cloudflare’s servers now, and if I go to my main site, it works fine. However, all the associated subdomains give DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error.

I’ve gone into Cloudflare’s DNS and added all the A-records Bluehost had for the subdomains exactly the way they had them. Some of the subdomains are just straight websites, whereas some redirect elsewhere.

The ones that are just straight websites no longer show the site, but only this Index page with cgi-bin in it:

The ones that have redirects change their url to the redirect page but continue to show DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN .

This is a big problem for me. What am I doing wrong/how do I fix it?

The key is NOT to add an A-record for these subdomains (contrary to what Bluehost said to do) but rather to add their CNAME record. Then it worked!
