Proxied DNS serving wrong website

Hi,
we have been having issues with a proxied DNS entry over the past weeks for wwwDOTxdaichainDOTcom.

FAILING DNS entry: wwwDOTxdaichainDOTcom
WORKING DNS entry: xdaichainDOTcom

Both DNS records point to the same exact CNAME resource.

While all page rules we set are working correctly for xdaichainDOTcom, the same is not happening with wwwDOTxdaichainDOTcom, which instead of returning a 301 Redirect, it keeps returning a website we don’t own.

I’ve enabled the development mode, purged the whole cache multiple times but nothing.

I suspect there’s something cached somewhere I cannot handle.
For that an help from the Cloudflare tech team would be appreciated.

Thank you

Try turning off the Cloudflare Orange button. If the problem still persists, then it is a web-server issue.
If it is fixed, let us know - it may be page-rules, apps or even Cloudflare pages misconfiguration on your panel.

Thank you @jeian.nueva , indeed by disabling the Cloudflare Orange button, I get the traffic routed stright to the origin server. If I enable the Orange button again, the website keeps redirecting to the wrong one.

Since we got the domain transferred from another Cloudflare account, do you know if there could be anything cached or misconfigured that I can’t detect and manage on the web console?

Thank you

Hm, if it’s not the origin host/server/web hosting and think something might be with Cloudflare itself, then kindly, I’d suggest you to write a ticket to support

  • Login to Cloudflare and then contact Cloudflare Support by clicking on the Get More Help button. If you get automatic reply, reply and indicate to it you need more help and reference to this topic
  • Or send an an e-mail to support[at]cloudflare[dot]com from your e-mail associated with your account
