Pros/Cons transferring UK domain to CloudFlare

Is there anything to consider if looking to move domain registrar from our current UK provider to Cloudflare? Seems sensible to have it all under one roof. Does it pose any risks or downsides? If not, I can just press the button and it will happen (easier I think then to get DNSSEC enabled).

Cloudflare’s registry is at-cost. They don’t charge you a markup. The downsides are:

  1. You have to use Cloudflare’s nameservers. You cannot use other nameservers.
  2. You can’t (currently) transfer a domain that is registered at Cloudflare from one Cloudflare account to another Cloudflare account.

The nameserver requirement is why they are willing to take a loss on this service, so just be aware of it.

OK thanks. Already using Cloudflare for nameservers.

Currently the domain is at 123-reg. Seems logical to move it to Cloudflare to make easier to manage. Just wondering if this is a button click and then it just happens with no disruption to anything?

If you are already using Cloudflare for DNS then yes, the transfer should be a non-event.
