Problem with website speed

What is the name of the domain?

itechblog.it

What is the issue you’re encountering

The site is unexpectedly slow

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I’ve tried with editing the hosts file having the Mac to go directly to the server without Cloudflare, and the situation is much better,

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Navigate the site.

Where are you seeing these problems?

  1. What ISP / provider, preferably their AS number?
The AS number can be found here:
  1. What country (and preferably state/region)?

How exactly are you analysing the situation, and coming to the conclusion that it is much better that way?

Are you using any specific tools, … or?

Hi,

First, I want to thank you for your reply. Unfortunately the form didn’t allowed me to explain properly.

On Tuesday (March 11) at 10:38 AM (Italian time), my Better Uptime monitoring system detected connectivity issues across multiple monitoring servers, which self-resolved by 10:40 AM. Upon checking (at around 10:40 AM) using my mobile network, I experienced slow loading times and encountered a Cloudflare 520 error while navigating a section of my website. Since then, my production and development environments have suffered persistent slowness (especially for uncached pages) despite no recent code changes, and my WordPress dashboard remains sluggish while WordFence shows nothing recently changed.

In the last few days seems like the system is improved, but still there are some doubts on what’s happened. On same Tuesday I’ve tried to do some further checks using my fixed network but nothing changed. Some days later, while still having the same issue, I’ve tried to edit the hosts file in my Mac, and these delays are magically disappeared! The site became fast again, while when deleting these DNS records from the hosts file still had slowed the experience, also in the WordPress backend. So, we can assume at this point that the problem is Cloudflare, but how could be possible?

Also: now the speed is basically back to normal and the difference could be detected only sometimes, luckily now the whole experience is better, absolutely.

But this didn’t explain how this could have been happened. In general, seems like Cloudflare slow the site sometimes, and it’s strange.

Also, today the uptime monitor reported me that the site was down. The page appeared was a 521 Cloudflare error. As soon as I got the report, I checked on my side and I was no able to recreate the issue, but I can see the screenshot that the monitor created, so how could this be possible? Something is wrong here.

  • My fixed provider: Dimensione Srl (AS202870)
  • My mobile provider: Mass Response Service GmbH (AS51265)

Thanks for your help in advance.

The slowness came again. Can you check it please? Thanks.
