Problem with setting up CDN (https://thewholezombie.com)

What is the name of the domain?

https://thewholezombie

What is the issue you’re encountering

I’ve been trying to connect a CDN (Cloudflare) and have changed the DNS accordingly. But, for some reason, the CDN hasn’t worked.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Hi! I’ve been trying to connect a CDN (Cloudflare) and have changed the DNS accordingly. But, for some reason, the CDN hasn’t worked (been waiting on the website for days now). Because of this, I’ve contacted GoDaddy about the domain, and here’s what they have to say:

##########################################

  • Thanks for sharing the domain. I would like to inform you that as checked the domain nameservers are with Cloudflare so they are only authorized to edit or add or make any changes to the domain DNS they can do it because we don’t get the option to add the DNS. If that was the case to add the records I would’ve happily done for you and we would’ve sorted this for you.

But the nameservers are with Cloudflare so I would request you to please contact them so that they can add the records for you.

  • As you can check the option for “ADD NEW RECORD” is greyed out which means we’ll not be able to add the records.
    ##########################################

Could you help me with this? The website in question is “https://thewholezombie.com”.

Thank you in advance. Cheers!

In what area can we help you?

I don’t know

Welcome to the Cloudflare Community. :logodrop:

I am not sure why you have shared a screenshot of the GoDaddy DNS management interface. You won’t be using that.

You do need to update the assigned nameservers in theregistrar portion of their site. You must remove the non-Cloudflare nameservers to activate your domain on Cloudflare. See the link below for further explanation.

Hi! Thank you so much for the response.

I’ve previously changed the DNS from GoDaddy to LONEX (web hosting), so I do have two assigned name servers beside the two CLOUDFLARE ones. If I’d remove the last two that attached GoDaddy to LONEX, will I lose the connection between that Web-host and the Website?

Just curious because I don’t want to accidentally make things worse. Cheers!

If you want to use Cloudflare, you can only have the two Cloudflare nameservers set at your registrar. Your host should have directions on how how to use their platform when you already have your own nameservers. You simply create the required entries in your Cloudflare DNS.
