Problem with image filenames with umlaut ä,ö,ü

I found a problem with image filenames with special characters “ä,ö,ü”. These images are not shown and the navigation menu starts to flicker when scrolled down over the image. Please have a look at my test page, the filename of the image is Römische-Verträge-Videolink-300×191.jpg
I raised the problem with my theme supplier Generatepress and they say “It looks like a plugin is adding javascript which is creating a bunch of html movement.
You can see the purple elements here
I tried to disable plugins but nothing changed. I found, the problem appears only when connected via Cloudflare. If I use a direct connection to the server, the problem disappears.
Also A2 hosting support confirmed that it’s a Cloudflare problem.
Any idea for a fast solution (beside changing hundreds of filenames + titles + alt tags in 3 languages)?
Thank you

If you turn off mirage, does the issue still happen?

Yes, I disabled mirage and purged the cache, but the issue is still there.

Does your server IP address end in 38? What is your encryption mode on Cloudflare?

38 yes, the encryption mode is flexible.

Change that to Full strict. Not only do you have you a proper certificate in place, Flexible couldnt be more insecure

I presume that change will fix it.
