Primary DNS 97.140.197.77 failed, but secondary DNS worked

-Created littlebilly.net. Tested API script, updated IP on Cloudflare. Changed NIC to use my Cloudflare IP. Works, but my ‘network monitor’ (Fing) reports DNS not responding.
-Changed NIC to Google DSN IP, internet works with no errors reported in Fing.
-In both cases same Public IP provided by Cloudflare… I’d like to use the provided Cloudflare IP (with no ‘Fing errors’).
-*-I need help figuring out what I’m doing wrong. (Followed a 2 year old tutorial, networkchuck…trust him).
“Self explanatory” screenshots attached. TIA, ~Bill

Heading toward static IP so I can turn of DHCP in Verizon gateway to use my Google nest WFi mesh routers

Not sure why DNS response graph show NOERRORS in blue when using Cloudflare IP… seems contradictory.

change to “bin/sh” when necessary

Tried changes which resulted in a different “static IP”, but otherwise nothing else seemed to change.
Still getting error. OK, it’s free, but I need it to work properly.

TIA ~Bill

Cloudflare’s IPs exist on Cloudflare… I don’t know how you would change your NIC to use a Cloudflare IP, unless you mean a DNS resolver this is probably in error. Cloudflare offers a public DNS resolver it is 1.1.1.1 if you want to use it for DNS resolution.

This appears to be a problem looking up the domain ripe.net does not resolve using one of the 2 DNS resolvers set on your router or your local machine or router.

97.140.197.77 is an IP owned by CELLCO-PART. Is that a valid DNS server you expect to be working? If so you will need to contact whoever manages it.

OK, I’m confused. I changed the NIC…SETTINGS. Refreshed the API and was ‘given’ that IP. I found I some errors in set up that I am trying to clear up. Once again I went through the exact same procedure, but this time I did not have any errors showing up anywhere. I’ve captured the images before and after IP ‘changes’ just cause.

Is it not true that the IP that is generated is mine? (This is all new to me so I’ve got some learning to do… but I thought it was correct.) Still attempting to make “Missing X-Auth-Key, X-Auth-Email or Authorization headers” go away from Zone import check.

Don’t know how or why that changed, however thanks for your reply.
