Prevent each image from being generated in each variant

Now each uploaded image is resized to all set image variants. We don’t want or need that. We have different variants for different locations on our website.

Are we able to set which variants an image should be resized in, thus preventing it being resized to ALL variants? Would be great, as it is now is just a big waste of space.

Or are image variants not charged toward images stored?

The latter, variants don’t affect images stored, you should not be worried about having extra variants.
