Hello Sdayman.

I hope this message get you well,
i am reaching out after unsucccesfully not being able to point my sub-domain to a certain IP address.,
I really need your help.

My Sub-domain is app.instagramerly.com and the Ip address is 185.32.189.133

Please help on what i need to do. Thank you.

Hi @edukaris66,

Your website doesn’t seem to be using Cloudflare nameservers, but websitewelcome.com. This means that any changes to your DNS will need to be made with them.

If you want to use Cloudflare’s DNS and services, you will need to change your nameservers to those listed in your Cloudflare dashboard.

Hello Domjh,

My issue is,

I need to only configure asub-domain and not the entire domain.

I don’t want to change hosting of my main domain. I want to point the sub-domains to a different IP address so how will this be done on cloud flare without actually interfering with the main domain hosting?

You can’t use Cloudflare’s DNS for just a subdomain. If you use it on the main domain, you can disable Cloudflare’s services on all but the subdomain, but the DNS will still be at Cloudflare.

The alternative is a CNAME setup, where the DNS is hosted elsewhere, but the subdomain uses Cloudflare. This requires a business plan or above.

Thank you so much, i will try that just now.

Hello Domjh,

I added a sub-domain and the Ip address of where i want it to point to as shown here >>>>https://prnt.sc/r608j9 but i got this>>>https://prnt.sc/r6091r>> Once i point the sub-domain to the Ip address there its supposed to bring a certain page. Its not and i am wondering if there is something i might not have done. Please advice. Thank you.

Regards,

Edwin.

If that is the correct IP address of the server, then it looks OK. Is the site working if you pause Cloudflare in the bottom right of your overview screen?

The main error is that the sub-domain app.instagramerly.com is supposed to bring a certain web-page using the new Ip address i entered on cloudflare as you can see from the screenshot i shared with you. The person who gave me the new Ip address have already authorized that i use that Ip address for my sub-domain but if you go to app.instagramerly.com it not working, so i requesting you to give advice if there is something wrong i might have done.

Yes, have you tried this?

You mean this>>>https://prnt.sc/r65vjc

No,

You can pause Cloudflare from the Overview tab of the Cloudflare Dashboard, bottom right under Advanced Actions.

If the issue persists after Cloudflare has been paused, it means that there is an issue with your origin, Cloudflare is only operating as your DNS provider while it is paused.

https://prnt.sc/r65yhd Thank you i have succesfully paused but site still not coming up,

But do you think by any chance i might have added the Ip adress wrongly? >>> The sub-domain is app.instagramerly.com and the i am supposed to point it 185.32.189.133…
See here>>>https://prnt.sc/r65yhd

Is it possible i might added the IP address or the name wrongly?

See here>>>>https://prnt.sc/r661pp

Therefore it is not a Cloudflare issue, but rather a problem on your host.

Hello domjh,

I don’t know why cloud flare suspended my account, do you know how i can unsuspend my account? wwwinstagramerly.com

How do you know it’s suspended? Did you get an email, if so this should give some idea of why. Or you can log into the dashboard.

because when i go www.instagramerly.com i see account has been suspended.>>>>https://prnt.sc/r6zzd4

That’s not a suspension by Cloudflare - you should contact your host as the message suggests.

Although i have not received any email from Cloud Flare. Does changing name servers mean that i changed my hosting? Or is my site still being hosted by the original guys i bought the hosting from?
