That’s CNAME flattening. Is something not working?

Ah didn’t realize cname flattening was supposed to do that. Yeah we have SSL issues. Thought it was due to this but I’ll try some other options.

I removed flattening and used IPs for the root instead. I’m seeing the new IPs in public DNS but the thing I’m still not clear on is why are none of our other CNAME records showing up in public?

You need to query for the specific hostname you are looking for. A query for the root domain does not return all associated records for a domain.
