Performance spike for cdnjs.cloudflare.com

Hello,

This is my 1st time to start here to seek help. Hope you could help on this.

The piece of code where we are referencing the highlighted CSS minified file is there in the system for more than 3 years or so, this resource is served from the Cloudflare CDN global cache for a better performance.

I just have below 3 questions,

  1. Why we are suddenly seeing a spike in performance from June 5th that too why for China alone (there is no performance issue for other countries including Japan in Asia)?

  2. Whether China does have its own Cloudfare Datacenter to serve the request? Or it is routing outside China to the nearest shore?

  3. Is there any changes done for China specifically from June 5th from Cloudflare side?

Best Wishes,
Henry WANG

If you visit https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/cdn-cgi/trace

What does COLO= say?

colo=HKG

fl=23f287
h=cdnjs.cloudflare.com
ip=116.246.18.236
ts=1591855001.851
visit_scheme=https
uag=Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/81.0.4044.138 Safari/537.36
colo=HKG
http=http/2
loc=CN
tls=TLSv1.3
sni=plaintext
warp=off

It seems like you are being routed to Hong Kong

As usually, where shall be routed? Seems colo value is not stable, sometime it’s HKG. sometime it’s SJC or SLC.
