When you pause Cloudflare, you are not using Cloudflare CDN, your resourced are not cached on Cloudflare. As a result, it will get slower.

Did you click the text that was automatically linked in your original post? That error is most frequently caused by using the insecure Flexible encryption mode. Be sure that you have a valid certificate on your origin and only use Full (strict).

If you have confirmed that the issue is your origin server, that is something you will need to ask your host. It is not something that the Cloudflare Community can assist you with.
