What is the issue you’re encountering

We paid the annual fee for 12 months of a Business account – this is not a new activation, either; we did it last year too – but apparently do not have access to the WAF feature or customer support chats. I suspect we did not have access to any of them last year, either. We would love to get someone’s attention on this, because it’s a lot of money to pay for features we can’t access. Thank you!

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I put in a support ticket in December, but have received no response.

In what area can we help you?

Upgrades

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Simply clicking on WAF in our dashboard.

And just to be clearer about it: This isn’t an upgrade or a downgrade (we saw the warning about that). It’s the same level of service we’ve paid for, so we SHOULD have always had these features available.

Account-level WAF feature requires an Enterprise plan with a paid add-on.

Okay, I see that here, thank you – so my confusion is not understanding what the WAF feature is that’s included with our Business plan. On this page, it says Business includes “Enhanced security with Web Application Firewall (WAF) and 100 custom WAF rules.” What is the difference between that and account-level WAF? Is this level of WAF automatically active? Thank you – I’m sorry to need the explanation.

100 custom WAF Rules which you can create and use for your domain (Website) including sub-domains as well to protect all.

When you navigate to the → https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/:zone/security/waf/custom-rules

Is usefull when you have e.g. 80-100 WordPress Websites hosted on single or multiple servers. Therefrom, instead of creating the same Custom WAF Rules for each of the Website, or when you have to modify one rule for 100s Websites, you loose time for this. So, you create single in Account-Level WAF and they apply for all the Websites in your Cloudflare Account. Easier to manage as you have it in one place instead of switching between Websites all the time to make such changes.
Like a default security feature, WAF rules which are applied to your entire Cloudflare account for all the zones managable from single interface, in short.
In short.

If you don’t can you clear cache & cookies and/or try in incognito mode?

Thanks, I will try that! When I click on anything related to chat, it tells me I have to upgrade. I will clear cache and try again!
