I have a Wordpress site which uses the WPBakery Page Builder plugin, and that plugin has a known compatibility issue with Rocket Loader.
When I attempt to edit a page using the plugin with Rocket Loader turned on, it hangs. If I turn Rocket Loader off, the plugin works correctly. So far, so good.
I thought I might be able to continue using Rocket Loader to speed up the site by having it turned on in the main settings, but use a Page Rule to turn it off when editing a page.
For example, I’d like to have Rocket Loader on when viewing this page as a website visitor: [link to site privacy policy removed, the forum will not allow me to include additional links in the post]
But when I edit that page using the plugin, this URL is opened:
But I know the plugin doesn’t work with Rocket Loader - that’s well documented. I don’t know exactly why, but it doesn’t seem productive to pursue that line of inquiry because I’m not going to be able to solve the problem.
I’m more interested in just finding a way to turn off Rocket Loader when editing those pages to avoid the problem.
I’m just curious how you know Rocket Loader is still active. Is it through F12 Developer Tools - Network tab and you see rocketloader.min.js has been loaded?
I’m presuming that Rocket Loader is still active because the plugin hangs at the same point and in the same way. Then if I turn Rocket Loader off in the main settings, the plugin works.
So the page rule seems to have no effect on whether the plugin works or not. Only the main setting to turn Rocket Loader on or off has an effect.
