Page Rule 301 Redirects not working

What is the name of the domain?

Page not found

What is the issue you’re encountering

301 redirect trigger isn’t working

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Setup old blog post url and redirected to new page. Because I’m a new user I can’t post the actual page code. Kajabi doesn’t use A records just Cname for www. So I removed the old a record pointing to my VPS ip address and just have the cname www pointing to kajabi servers.
Forwarding URL (Status Code: 301 - Permanent Redirect, Url: Addressing Top Talent Challenges with Agile Methodologies) is using Kajabi so requests are going through their Cloudflare account and not through yours, so your settings don’t have any effect…

Ah, so because I’m using their name servers my redirects aren’t working. Would the solution be to create my own custom name servers and point the Cname to CNAME www or am I forced to use their nameservers.

They have an option to setup page redirects in Kajabi using HTTP refresh but they aren’t actual 301s. This is a huge downfall to migrating to their systems. I feel like I’ve lost complete control over having my own site on a VPS.

So there’s no other option and I’m going to lose organic traffic without 301 redirects unless there’s another solution. I’m hoping I’m not the only one who has run into this on the kajabi platform

And I just discovered to have custom NS on Cloudflare, it’s $200/mo for business plan? Wow, at this point, I should have kept my VPS open. These are things I need to make sure I publish so others don’t make this same mistake.

No, that only gives you vanity nameservers. You cannot change the nameservers for a domain registered with Cloudflare on any plan. This is indicated at the time of purchase.

If you want to change the nameservers you’ll need to transfer the domain out to another registrar.

Since Kajabi uses Cloudflare, you likely can’t proxy the Cloudflare DNS records in your account for the redirects in your account to work. Although more Cloudflare to Cloudflare (orange to orange, O2O) seems to work for some large providers, I don’t think it works generally. You can try it but it likely won’t work.

Sjr, I’m confused then. Cloudflare is my registrar and I simply want my page rules I setup to work. Why did my NS change to Kajabi primary and secondary then? Can’t I change back to Cloudflare NS and keep the name pointing to kajabi for www and then my page rules would work?

I was incorrect on my last post. The Nameservers are Cloudflare’s and the only pointer I have going to Kajabi is the CNAME, www. Do why aren’t my page redirects working. There has to be some sort of solution for this?

I am still needing help with this. My domain redirect isn’t working either. I’m trying to redirect to using “Rules” and redirect Rules and it’s not working either. Is this also because Kajabi uses Cloudflare? If so, this is so unbelievably frustrating. It’s as if I’m being penalized because they are on the same registrar and they keep sending me to cloudflare to make the adjustments which don’t work!

What is the name of the domain?

What is the error message?

This site can’t be reached

What is the issue you’re encountering

https:// will not redirect to https://www

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I have tried all documentation related to Page Rules and Rules Redirects to no avail. The only additional details I’ve seen is that Kajabi is also on Cloudflare, but I don’t understand why that matters. I even saw one person say you can’t use Kajabi if your registrar is CF. This seems wrong, and I’m hoping there’s a simple solution. Kajabi has said they don’t provide A records and keep pointing me to CF’s page rules documentation. I’ve tried everything and nothing works. Please help. I’m willing to “tip” whoever can seriously help me resolve this. I’ve attached a picture of my zone file.

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

I can paste in the page rules and redirect rules if needed.

From your DNS records screenshot, you’re missing a DNS record for, which is why you’re getting the “site can’t be reached” message.

Add a AAAA placeholder record like this, and you’ve got half a chance of that hostname redirecting. Exactly like this:

@sdayman - thank you very much. Your solution has worked…do you think there are any long-term issues with Kajabi not providing an actual ipv6 address? My only concern would be duplicate content issues on the SEO side unless I hard code everything to

It seems silly that they wouldn’t provide an ip address for me. Apparently they did for my friend so maybe they’re no longer doing that. Is there a way I can contact you directly off list?
