I setup Cloudflare for my site (catalystgolfacademy.com) this morning, and it worked perfectly. This afternoon, however, it has caused many problems. It will now only respond with a 522 error. I contacted my hosting provider (Bluehost) as it says on the page, and they said to contact Cloudflare and tell them to install a SSL certificate. They said that was the problem. Please help
BlueHost Support isn’t known for giving solid advice. Cloudflare already has an SSL certificate for site. Was your site working with HTTPS before you added it to Cloudflare?
I checked the link you attached and none of those things fix my issue. Yes, it did have SSL before Cloudflare, and it worked with Cloudflare for almost six hours before this started happening.
5xx errors are due to the host 99.9% of the time. Probably 100%, but I wouldn’t bet on that last .1%. You need to push the host harder to actually track this down. Their excuse that it’s a Cloudflare SSL certificate issue is clearly wrong.
