Old DNS records auto restoring in the wrong account

What is the name of the domain?

onceandfuturefestival.com

What is the issue you’re encountering

DNS records for onceandfuturefestival.com keep regenerating in my account, despite efforts to remove them manually. This is preventing me from fully managing the DNS settings. I added them to my account in error and it’s now blocking the DNS records in my partner JD’s account, where the domain was properly set up.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Removed DNS records manually through the Cloudflare dashboard.

Attempted to disconnect my account from the domain, following the recommended steps.

Ensured no legacy tunnels are associated with my account.

Re-added the domain under my partner JD’s Cloudflare account.

Tried removing the domain entirely from my Cloudflare account.

Despite these actions, the DNS records continue to appear in my account, which is causing confusion and delays in setting up the domain.

Error Messages:
I am unable to purge records due to permissions issues or because the zone ID appears invalid. The CNAME and A Record (which I added manually) will not fully propagate from JD’s account (which I am managing with permissions) and it’s been over 48 hours.

I’ve attached screenshots of the records that keep auto-restoring.

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

Your domain is with Cloudflare Registrar, so you need to use the account where the domain registration is held to manage your domain.

Can you show a screenshot of the whole of your DNS page including the nameservers at the bottom and the bar at the top that looks like this…

If you delete a record in your account and it is repopulated, check the audit logs to determine how they are being change. It may be possible you have those records connected to another service that is modifying them. If that’s the case you need to disconnect them from that service / rotate your API key.

I’m unclear what a JD is in this instance. JD Cloud? Someone named JD? As @sjr mentioned domains are managed in the zone where they’re active. Since you use Cloudflare registrar that’s your account. If you want to transfer the domain to another account… you’d need to follow these steps (not the callout for a domain using Cloudflare registrar).
