Not clear what the attribute of "Duration" means for the "Log" action, inside the Rate Limiting rule

Hello,

When creating a Rate Limiting Rule, and selecting the “Log” action, you have to select a predefined value for “Duration” for the “Log” action, but I don’t understand what is the meaning of this attribute.

For “Block” action, for example, I understand it means for how long the source IP is banned from accessing the site, but “Log” is a one time action per spotted client activity, so I ask for help to understand what the “Duration” field means for the “Log” action.

Thank you.

According to the Developer Documentation:

Duration - Once the rate is reached, the rate limiting rule applies the rule action to further requests for the period of time defined in this field (in seconds).

More information can be found here:

I hope this helps!

Thanks Paige, it is noted well only the API documentation, which I did not look into since I use the UI. It will be nice by CF to also explain it well at the UI doc’, such as at Configuring Cloudflare Rate Limiting (previous version) · Cloudflare Support docs . Thanks.
