"No peer certificate" error on some Android phones

We converted our web platform to using Cloudflare last month. The website was using https before, and is now using https through Cloudflare. It is working fine from Chrome, Firefox, and other browsers and passes SSL checks like,
https://www.digicert.com/

In works for our Android and iOS apps on the phones that we have tested, and for most users it seems to work. But a lot of Android users are getting the “No peer certificate” error, and cannot use our app.

My guess is that this occurs on older Android phones. Anyone know why the issue occurs or how to resolve it other than not using Cloudflare?

How old are the Android phones? Maybe they don’t support SNI:

It seems that the users having errors are using Android 5 or less.

Is there any workaround? Can SNI be disabled?
