I hope someone can help. I have tried a support ticket but no reply in 7 days.

It seems that Cloudflare cached pages are not improving the page metrics when compared to the origin server.

The site (itis a staging site) is hosted on a VPS located in the UK and the website is cached by WP Rocket and the CDN is set to Cloudflare.

When performing a Webtagetest result for a Cloudflare cached page and non Cloudflare cached page in a countries different to the origin server, there is little difference in the page metrics. I would have expected that a Cloudflare cached page will load faster than the same page served by the origin server when viewing the page from a German or U.S location.

A test has been performed for the Cloudflare cached page and another test for direct to origin server and the results can be seen below:

I have set up caching in Cloudflare with speed optimisations set up and Cache rules set to Cache Everything. Smart Tiered Caching Topology and Cache Reserve are enabled.

There is a cf-cache-status HIT in the Response Header when checking the page, so it looks like Cloudflare is caching the page.

I am new to Cloudflare so this is perhaps a configuration issue. The Cloudflare plan for this staging site is free whilst it is being tested with Cloudflare. I have a Pro plan ready for the Live site, but I want to ensure that the configuration is correct beforehand.

I hope someone can provide help / pointers with the setup so that the CDN site is performing better (than the non-CDN staging site) in locations outside the UK.
