To add to this. I now see that my nameserver was changed to netfirms. But why does my domain still point to cloudfare?
Basically, I have no access to my Cloudflare account. It was set up by a web developer that I’m having trouble communicating with. How can I go about getting access to my Cloudflare account?
This means the domain is not registered with Cloudflare. That’s because all Cloudflare-registered domains can only use Cloudflare’s nameservers.
So it seems the domain is with a different registrar (perhaps Netfirms?), and your developer merely added it to Cloudflare to use Cloudflare’s DNS and CDN services.
If you have access to the domain at the registrar, and you want to use Cloudflare’s services, then simply add the domain to your own Cloudflare account and change the nameservers at your registrar.
If you don’t have access to the domain at your registrar and don’t know who your registrar is, then kindly tell us the domain name so we can point you in the right direction.
They could be pointing to a 3rd party service for your website which uses Cloudflare. But if your nameservers aren’t on Cloudflare it’s unlikely there is any account on Cloudflare to manage by anyone for your domain.
The nature of Cloudflare is it’s a proxy, so it ‘hides’ the true origin server/service in order to provide security and performance. Sometimes there can be a clue in the hostname as to the 3rd party service they might be using. What is the name of the site you’re looking to figure out?
