New subdomain is giving a 526 error

I have a Cloudflare Universal SSL certificate that covers *.MYDOMAIN.com as well as MYDOMAIN.com. It is set to “Full”.

I am trying to set up a subdomain so that I can use Apollo for email. The subdomain will be “mail” and the CNAME will point to aplolinks.com.

However, even after I create the CNAME record in Cloudflare, Apollo cannot find that record. I’ve tried going to mail.MYDOMAIN.com and it gives me a 526 error. How can I get this to work?
