What is the name of the domain?
What is the error message?
This domain points to Shopify but isn’t configured properly
What is the issue you’re encountering
We are trying to point a subdomain to our shopify website, but the site will not load. Shopify has proposed several different possible problems including lingering DNSSEC records, and proxy conflicts. We have received no response from multiple attempts to contact Cloudflare support
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
There is no proxy assigned to the subdomain we’re pointing to Shopify, see screenshots. There is a proxy on our root domain which is currently hosting our live website and uses Cloudflare for the SSL and thus the SSL fails if we turn the proxy off. I am still getting a message within Shopify that we are using a Proxy (“Your domain is using a Cloudflare Proxy, which Shopify does not support. If you’re unsure about this, please contact Shopify Support for assistance.”) even though that subdomain doesn’t have one. Shopify support has suggested that isn’t actually the cause of the problem, but they don’t give a lot of supporting evidence for any of their theories.
Would enabling O2O for this subdomain solve this problem? Does anyone know how we can get that activated?
In order to prepare to add Shopify we recently turned off our DNSSEC on Cloudflare, which I understand has a known bug where all the DNS Key records are not automatically removed. We’ve asked Cloudflare to confirm that everything is removed but have not recieved a response to that case 01328549 (started on 01320572 which was then closed). This could be the cause of the problem, but no one seems to be able to confirm that. I want to get the DNS Key records removed and would appreciate if someone could help get cloudflare to do that.
We also use load balancing w/ proxy on our root domain to direct traffic for the www.stx.com website. I don’t see why that would conflict with the new un-proxied subdomain, but wanted to ask if that’s a possible cause of the problem?
Shopify has most recently suggested that our domain is on some sort of blocked list at Cloudflare, but didn’t offer any insight into what that means or what made them think that.
Any insight into what is really happening here would be appreciated, or help in getting a response from the open ticket to investigate DNSSEC problems.
What feature, service or problem is this related to?
