New domain not working for over 24hours

Hello! I recently bought a domain on Cloudflare but having difficulties connecting the domain with my hosting(which is not Cloudflare).

So far, i have added the two nameservers given to me by my hosting providers to Cloudflare as NS records, and have waited for over 24hours.

I will really appreciate any kind of help, i am new to the Cloudflare interface and don’t really understand how it works.

Note: I am using a free account on Cloudflare

Those two things are mutually exclusive. Any domains purchased using Cloudflare registrar must use Cloudflare nameservers.

6.1 in the Domain Registration Agreement states that you cannot change the nameservers:

6.1 Nameservers . Registrant agrees to use Cloudflare’s nameservers. REGISTRANT ACKNOWLEDGES AND AGREES THAT IT MAY NOT CHANGE THE NAMESERVERS ON THE REGISTRAR SERVICES, AND THAT IT MUST TRANSFER TO A THIRD PARTY REGISTRAR IF IT WISHES TO CHANGE NAMESERVERS.

Domain Registration Agreement | Cloudflare

You’ll either need to use Cloudflare’s DNS and get a list of the required records from your host, or transfer your domain elsewhere to change the nameservers.

Normally you would just enter the specific hostname records that your hosting provider gives you.

Thanks for your reply.

Actually, i’ve added an A record with my server’s IP address but its still not working.

Can you provide more detail on what is not working?

  • How are you attempting to connect to your domain?
  • What error do you see?

I finally fixed it.

Here is what i did.

I initially added the domain as addon domain and redirected non www version (mysite . com) to the www version (www . mysite . com), meanwhile i only added A record for the non www version which then redirects to the www version and still doesn’t.

I fixed this by adding A record for the www version

Thank you @epic.network for showing concern
