New domain added - how long until new mail?

New cloudflare user here.

I have added a domain to cloudflare. The MX records are set up as described on the website. I’ve set up routing with a simple catch-all forwarder and validated the email address.

It’s been a couple of hours now. Google’s DNS shows that the MX records are present and correct, but the counters on incoming emails are stuck at 0. Emails sent to anything@mydomain seem to disappear into the ether. I’ve tried from two different webmail sources

Am i setting my expectations too high or should i be ready to receive emails by now?

Once the records are populated it should start to work.
