New Cloudflare Page with GitHub and Custom domain

What is the name of the domain?

example.eu

What is the error number?

522

What is the error message?

Connection timed out (host)

What is the issue you’re encountering

I can’t access my custom domain, to see myproject.pages.dev

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

SO MANY omg. I have read dozens of pages, additional forum posts, help docs. I thought I was doing everything ‘right’.
Now I’m lost with too many configurations.

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

DNS records

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

go to example.eu and see Error 522.

Screenshot of the error

I also tried making it DNS only as suggested in another place in the forums, but, then I get these errors about IP leaking. So I’m just lost.

Again, everything is in my github repo. I pointed things in the domain and registrar too. Mail is working fine…
But I can’t seem to visit my vanity domain and see my pages.dev

This was the guide I tried to follow
https://www.khoadlw.com/Blogging-with-Obsidian,-Quartz,-and-Cloudflare-Pages

Of course, I figured it out after posting everything. Good way to jog the memory and lay out your steps.

I needed to go to:
Dashboard → Workers & Pages → projectname → Custom Domain (TAB!) → Set up custom domain.

Doh…
Thanks.

And this is –all– you had to do  for a standard Cloudflare Pages custom domain setup. Cloudflare adds the appropriate DNS records and provisions an SSL certificate automatically, and you don’t need to do anything else.

In the future, you want to follow the official Cloudflare documentation for the specific Cloudflare product you’re trying to configure before consulting any 3rd-party resource.
