Network Issue Between Google HK and Cloudflare HK.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Try changing the IP address of the instance in Google Cloud. I would like to report a network issue that has been occurring for approximately one week. It seems that Google Cloud HK is unable to access the Cloudflare HKG node and is instead being routed to nodes in Taiwan or Singapore. This issue is causing significant disruptions.

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

I don’t know

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Where you are being routed to, depends on your ISP’s decisions, including their peering arrangements with Cloudflare, and whether these peering arrangements (if they have such) are done locally or far away.

If your provider from Hong Kong does not want to peer with Cloudflare within Hong Kong, and is only peering with Cloudflare in e.g. Singapore, then traffic from that ISP will be sent from Hong Kong and to Cloudflare’s PoP in Singapore.

Anycast will take you to the closest location based on the network path.

Closest network path isn’t the same as closest physical / geographical distance.

The fact that you are not reaching the closest physical / geographical facility does NOT mean that there are any network issues or disruptions.

That said, -

Do you have any other information, that will be documenting the alleged network issue, as well as the alleged disruptions?
