Need to upgrade account but don't know original account holder

Hi,
Our original domain / website host must have signed us up for cloudflare quite some years ago. We have recently found out that we need to upgrade to Business or Pro to allow an increase in upload limits to our Learning Management Platform. We have done ‘forgot email’ and nobody has received any email - so we think it must have been initiated by someone at our old website designer/host company. I have lodged a support ticket, and called and left sales calls twice for Cloudflare, but to no avail. I have signed up for a free account in the interim, but don’t want to connect our domain until we can see how the old account is set up. Any help would be appreciated on how we can locate original user or how to transfer the subscription to me? Thank you! Bec

If you can’t contact the account owner then you’ll need to add the domain to your new account and change the nameservers at the registrar to the new ones you are given to take control of it. (If you don’t have access to the registrar either, then you are stuck).

Cloudflare obviously can’t give you any information about another user’s account or the settings inside for security reasons so you’ll have to look up any existing public DNS information yourself and enter it into the zone in your new account.

Hi SJR,
I have access to all DNS info and where I can update the nameservers in the registrar  So that is no issue - can easily be done.
I am just worried if I do this and edit the nameservers that our website and platform will go down. Do you think we should be safe?

That risk is one you’ll have to decide on yourself.

It is highly likely it will go down unless you know the accurate and complete information for your websites.
