Over two weeks ago, I redirected my Shopify nameservers to Cloudflare but Cloudflare still shows as pending. Shopify shows the transfer as successful. HELP!
This domain uses googledomain nameservers. The nameservers need to be updated at your registrar.

I bought my domain through Shopify but when I told them about updating/redirecting my domain nameservers in Tucows, they seem to have NO IDEA what I’m talking about. How do I explain this process to Shopify since I (personally) don’t have direct access to Tucows?
If you have purchased domain through Shopify, you need to contact them alone. I’m sure you also have got the admin panel to manage the domain records and update options as provided by the vendor. Here’s a guide, not sure how far it’d help.
https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/domains/managing-domains
However, I strongly suggest you to contact their support, ask them that you want to update the domain records, look for support docs and get access where you can update the nameservers.
Understood NeilJay. I have successfuly updated nameservers in my Shopify Admin settings. The problem is, Shopify does not allow me, or seem to know how to access the Tucows domain records in order to update the nameservers there.
The Shopify Admin account domain permissions given to me DO NOT give me access to Tucows, which keeps me from updating the ROOT domain nameserver information. I hope I’m making sense here because I’m just now learning about these registrar/domain relationships.
Happy to learn that you’ve updated the nameservers. For a moment, let’s forget Tucows just because you purchased domain from Shopfiy. Could you confirm the changes to the nameservers that you have done? You may use third-party tools like DNS Checker to see whether the propagation is taking place. If you do not see the change you’re intending to see, you are required to contact the vendor from where you have purchased the domain i.e., Shopify. It is their responsibility! Cloudflare can’t help in this issue.
Got it. Yes, I have done what I was supposed to do (update nameservers in my Shopify Admin settings). This has been verified. I (personally) don’t have access to the Tucows “root” nameservers in order to update the nameservers there. This is where Shopify needs to access the Tucows nameservers on my behalf in order to change/redirect them to Cloudflare. Again, I hope I’m explaining this correctly. I attached a pic for reference.
You’re right. When you do WHOIS, Registrar will be shown as:
Registrar Information
Registrar: Tucows Domains Inc.
IANA ID: 69
URL: http://www.tucows.com
Also, READ THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE carefully:
That’s affirmative. It’s Shopify who needs to update the records at their system. For, if you run a search for your domain provider at Tucows, results in:
Provider Information
The provider information for crenshawfoundation.org:
Registration Service Provider:
Shopify

Run your search here. Hope that helps.
