We’re using mailchimp as our email service. It requires us to add DKIM and DMARC records to our DNS in order to verify our domain. We have a SquareSpace domain which points to Cloudflare. Mailchimp
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
I’ve added the appropriate records to Cloudflare, and then to SquareSpace domains. Currently both DNS records have the 2 DKIM, TXT, and DMARC records added to them but Mailchimp still can’t verify our domain. I’m not sure if putting them in both is causing the issue, or if there’s something specific I need to do in order to get the records confirmed by Mailchimp. My niavite’ when it comes to DNS is embarrassing. But I’m hoping someone will be able to review my Squarespace DNS and Cloudflare DNS and have a solution
What feature, service or problem is this related to?
It seems like you’ve added them through the wrong Cloudflare account.
Changes has to be made through the DNS provider that is currently authoritative for your domain.
When Cloudflare is authoritative for your domain, e.g. that your domain through your registrar has been delegated to Cloudflare name servers, no changes you attempt to add elsewhere (e.g. on Squarespace) will ever see the light of the day.
Your screenshot for “Cloudflare DNS” shows two name servers named “laylah” and micah".
However, through Squarespace, your domain name has been delegated to the name servers “blair” and “bruce”, which is why you are not seeing the changes propagate.
So as mentioned to begin with, you’re performing the changes on Cloudflare through a different Cloudflare account, that isn’t the correct one, and which isn’t authoritative for the domain name.
You’re a genius! Thank you so much. That makes total sense to me now. I didn’t think to look up what our nameservers were, I just figured our admin gave me the correct login info. I appreciate your help so much
