I need help with enabling CDN caching with Cloudflare. When I look up my website with whatsmydns.net my hosting provider server IP 66.198.240.44 is still showing despite having enabled the Proxy status.
I created A record in Cloudflare with my website and turned on Proxied.
It looks like my website DNS is going to cloudflare server now since Friday. On Friday I deleted domain A record and then created added domain record back with Proxied on.
I checked the traffic log in cloudflare and it shows zero traffic before Friday so it was not going to cloudflare before Friday. So I don’t know why it is now working using same settings.
I am using lightspeed cache plugin and i noticed CDN was not turned on in plugin and none of cloudflare CDN account fields are filled.
My hosting provider tech support said that is not necessary to turn on CDN in lightspeed plugin since my registrar provider is pointing directly to cloudflare nameservers.
Is this true I do not have to turn on CDN and enter any info in lightspeed plugin? I just want to confirm I don’t need to do anything else.
Thank you
I remember when I previously used WP Rocket cache plugin that I had to enter cloudflare account id and zone id in the plugin.
When I did google search for lightspeed plugin cloudflare zone id - there are various links documentation that says to fill in the cloudflare fields in lightspeed plugin. So I am surprised I don’t need to turn it on and fill out these fields.
On a side not - i noticed my blog posts especially older blog posts are taking many seconds to come up. It looks like my blog posts are not being cached by cloudflare. Do I need to create an A record in cloudflare for my Blog on my website?
You don’t need to do that just to use Cloudflare. Whether or not the plugin offers some additional integration, such as clearing your Cloudflare cache automatically after you update your site, is a question that is better suited for the plugin developer. Such a feature would require you to create an appropriately scoped an API token, and not simply enter a Cloudflare zone ID. I have never used the Litespeed Wordpress plugin, so I cannot speak to its capabilities and options.
