Hi, I have bought my website domain from Cloudflare and I have my Web host on Hostinger. I would like to add the Hostinger provided nameserver to my Cloudflare nameserver to point my website hosted on Hostinger to my domain name (bought with Cloudflare). Please provide me guide how can I do this.
I have tried added my Hostinger nameserver in the “DNS management for ” section in DNS Records, but when I check which nameserver my domain name is pointing to on https://www.whatsmydns.net/ it still shows me the nameserver of Cloudflare and also Hostinger shows that the domain is not connected. Pleas guide me in this regards. Thank you.
You cannot do that. Luckily, you don’t need to do that. You just need to create your DNS records in your Cloudflare account using the address provided by your host.
Cloudflare registrar provides at cost domain registration as an exclusive benefit for domains that use Cloudflare DNS.
6.1 in the Domain Registration Agreement states that you cannot change the nameservers:
6.1 Nameservers . Registrant agrees to use Cloudflare’s nameservers. REGISTRANT ACKNOWLEDGES AND AGREES THAT IT MAY NOT CHANGE THE NAMESERVERS ON THE REGISTRAR SERVICES, AND THAT IT MUST TRANSFER TO A THIRD PARTY REGISTRAR IF IT WISHES TO CHANGE NAMESERVERS.
You’ll either need to use Cloudflare’s DNS and get a list of the required records from your host, or transfer your domain elsewhere to change the nameservers.
