What is the issue you’re encountering

Name server issue

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Hi. I purchased my domain through Godaddy and my website is hosted by a CRM called GROOVE CM. Groove CM works with Cloudflare. Groove DM is suggesting one set of nameservers and Cloudflare is assigning another set of nameservers different from the GROOVE DM. When I put in the nameservers suggested by GROOVE DM the website works but when I put in the name servers suggested by cloudflare I get an error message on the website. How can change the nameservers in Cloudflare to the same ones suggested by Groove since those are the nameservers that are working?

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

You can’t. Setting the nameservers is how a domain is activated in a Cloudflare account. A domain can only be active in one Cloudflare account. You can have the account active in your Cloudflare account by setting the assigned nameservers or you can activate the domain in Groove’s Cloudflare account.

You need to determine whether you will be using Groove’s DNS or your own and follow the directions for the corresponding method. Do you have a link to a guide that you are following?

Hi,
Thanks for your time and response. Not sure what you mean

being active in Groove’s Cloudflare account verses my cloudflare account. I know I was able to do this process with another domain under my Cloudflare account following the directions given by Groove. For my first website I built the site on Groove cm, purchased the domain through Go Daddy, opened a cloudflare account, followed the direction to add a custom domain on Groove to Publish my website and in doing that Groove me the suggested name server, added those nameservers to Go Daddy and when i do the full domain set up with Cloudflare it worked.

Now I’m trying to do the same thing with this second domain and it doesn’t work. I understand what you are saying about Groove’s cloudflare account but I’m not aware of ever setting up a domain under their account unless i did so accidentally. I set up my own Cloudflare.

What is working though is if i out the naneservers suggested by Groove and set them in Groove, the site works. But if i put the nameservers suggested by Cloudflare in Go Daddy, no succes. Not understanding what I’m doing wrong. I guess i’ll just go with whatever works.

The nameservers that your set at the registrar control which account is active. If you use the ones provided by Groove, then you need to manage your DNS in their system. If you use the ones in your Cloudflare account, then your DNS needs to be managed in your Cloudflare account.
