My wildcard domain suddenly pointed to CF

I have a free account and use a wildcard rule (DNS only) on a domain. Today some subdomains stopped working because of a certificate issue. I noticed that the wildcard DNS entry was wrongfully pointing to CF IP’s instead of my own. For one domain i got:
curl: (35) error:14004410:SSL routines:CONNECT_CR_SRVR_HELLO:sslv3 alert handshake failure

for the other one i got a redirect to the URL i requested (infinite loop). here is an example request-id:

< CF-Cache-Status: DYNAMIC
< cf-request-id: 04fb9a09820000ede748b97200000001
< Server: cloudflare
< CF-RAY: 5cd92c559c15ede7-CDG

after changing the IP address in the wildcard rule and instantly changing it back everything startet working correctly again.

Wildcard DNS should only be available on enterprise plans. Sometimes there’s a glitch that lets you set it to :orange:, and maybe that’s what happened for you.
