I am unaware of the issue could be, the website is on wordpress, domain on GoDaddy, and the hosting service is via Cloudflare. The website had been working fine for two months and suddenly I got this issue. First it said something about a SSL mismatch so that was fixed and once that was done the nginx page started to appear. I dont really have that much experience on this topic so I’d appreciate some guidance.
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
Activated the SSL
Deactivated the proxy from A and CNAME records
What feature, service or problem is this related to?
Your records are proxied right now. Regardless, you will need to contact the provider of your origin server to determine why they aren’t serving your site.
Would it make a difference if the records we not proxied? Sorry I lack the technical skills and I am learning with trail an error.
By the provider you mean the web servers/where the website is being hosted right?
I have been trying to find a way to track the website host service used on Wordpress but I have been unable so far, and currently I can even enter the WP admin dashboard since the website only shows the nginx landing page.
Yes, by provider, I am referring to whoever operates the nginx server. Usually you would know who that is, since you typically have to pay them.
You could always look up the IPs found in your Cloudflare dashboard DNS app using whois to see who operates the netblock. It often is the hosting provider.
The only real differences that you would see if you switched to DNS Only, is that your provider’s IP would now be publiahed, and you would reach that nginx page directly instead of having it relayed to you via Cloudflare.
Try using whois on the IPs in your dashboard DNS and check your various payment mechanisms to see if you are paying someone for hosting. Let us know how it goes.
Turns out the website was removed from the host service / web servers by the old provider.
Either way, I really appreciate your help and you taking time to explain this to me. It was a stressful but certainly more importantly a learning experience.
