DNS records
Greetings,
Thank you for asking.
I am sorry to hear this.
Looking at your A marseem.com
DNS record, it points to the local IP address (unproxied DNS-only), instead of pointing to the real server/origin host IP address (proxied ) where your Website content is located:
$ dig A +short marseem.com
192.168.1.254
Nevertheless, may I ask if you are trying to run a Website from a local device and make sure it’s available to the Internet (public)?
Helpful article how to manage DNS records at Cloudflare dashboard:
Thank you for your reply.
My wifi is working perfectly from my local device. I don’t what happened after registration in Cloudflare. These DNS records have been created automatically from Cloudflare, not by myself. Somebody asked me to wait for 24 hours and check. I don’t know this issue from me or from Cloudflare. I can’t add proxied DNS records, the option doesn’t allow me to insert it, I get “Target 192.168.1.254 is not allowed for a proxied record. (Code: 9003)”. What do you suggest to do?
May I ask where do you host your Website?
Cloudflare picked up these records while scanning.
Seems you’ve had it locally since before, my best guess, which is why theere is an IP address from local network.
Should be available on some public service/web hosting and pointed to their IP address of their server/origin host, then it could be proxied as well and working as expected.
Otherwise, you’d need to reserve a public static IP address to serve it from your local network.
Or, use Cloudflare Tunnels
in such case (which might be a bit complicated at the start for now):
My host is from the Netherlands. my network ip address now is 192.168.1.248.
Do I need to add this in the DNS record? I’m confused about what should I do exactly.
Now I’m receiving this message when I load my website:
Ray ID: 8b5ddc0c6fafd0c9 • 2024-08-19 23:17:52 UTC
You mentioned in the WordPress support forum that your website stopped loading “after adding Cloudflare servernames in my host provider”.
Login to your hosting provider’s control panel, and retrieve your hosting server’s IP address from there. That’s the one you should be adding in your Cloudflare DNS. (Securitytrails’ historical records show Strato’s IP address 81.169.145.95
but do check your hosting control panel to confirm the correct address.)
It seems you’re trying to use your WiFi IP address or something, which won’t do you any good.
Thank you for you reply George. I’m struggling to find this IP in my cpanel but I couldn’t. My host is strato. Is there any method to find it via ftp files or something?
I can’t find this ip in my cpanel dashboard.
Thanks
I have checked my ip by inserting my FTP host server and I got this. I added it in my DNS record but now I’m getting host is offline. is there anything still missing?
Also, I read in my host dashboard the following:
Changes to settings will not be fully active until 24 hours after activation due to the decentralized structure of DNS.
Do you think I need to wait for 24 hours until the new DNS becomes activated? Or there is something from my side should be implemented?
