Hi, yesterday i change my DNS to Cloudflare for use the SSL Certificated, im using the free service. Usually i have between 3000 to 4000 visits a day, but today i have only 200 visits…

I was checking the SSL and i dont know if im wrong or im sharing the SSL certificated with porn and zoofilia sites? i dont have a problem to share the certificated with other sites, but im affraid because they are a porn and zoofilia sites, that can affect my rank in google?

Thanks.

Using shared certificates has that possible effect. I don’t believe it would affect ranking, just like shared IPs do not anymore, but for 5$/month you can buy dedicated certificate that is only for you.

Thanks, but any other experience?

What are you using to count visitor traffic?

I also recommend you check the Analytics tab on the Cloudflare dashboard to see what kind of traffic your domain is receiving. It could be that Cloudflare is blocking undesirable traffic.

Google Ranks pages with SSL higher than without. I am not a SEO hero but I can’t imagine that they take much care about other domains in this cert.

They may lower the ranking just because it’s SNI. Regardless which domains are included.

From my point of view free SSL is ok for private pages, staging or development platforms but not for productive environment. If you’re running a serious website, it should be worth 5$ per month. At least.
