What is the issue you’re encountering

I’m having trouble obtaining a certificate for a domain. The status shows “Pending Validation (Error).” I have tried disabling and re-enabling Universal SSL. Each time I toggle it, a new TXT record is added to my domain.

Was the site working with SSL prior to adding it to Cloudflare?

If that is correct, none of the certificates will be relevant because your site won’t be using SSL. The mode actually needs to be Full Strict. If it’s any other setting, encryption is disabled.

As for the proxy certificate, your domain was flagged by several security vendors - VirusTotal - and that’s why Cloudflare won’t be able to get the certificate issued. You first need to resolve these issues.

And set your encryption mode to Full Strict.
