My analytics are showing 10s of thousands of requests

I’m new to Cloudflare and I’m not even really sure what it is to be honest. my hosting company directed me to Cloudflare in order to speed up my site. So that works… I have a free account.

The other day I was browsing around the dashboard and clicked on “analytics.” According to the the statistics, I’m getting about 44,000 requests in the last month and about 4,500 unique visitors in the same timeframe.

I’ve used other analytics (like Google) before, and they never came even close to those numbers. Could this be some sort of error?

Thanks for any input.

Hi, and welcome to the community.

Cloudflare Analytics will count as a visitor any request from the same IP address, even from crawlers and threats. Google Analytics will count only browser visits that triggers their JavaScript-based platform.
