MX Records Stopped Working 100%

What is the name of the domain?

What is the error number?

No Error Number, just intermentent email.

What is the issue you’re encountering

MX record in Cloudflare DNS appears correct. When checked with DNS Checker, the MX record shows different. DNS has been set like this for weeks with no issue, so it isn’t a propogation issue. Email doesn’t send/recieve 100% of the time and email provider is HostGator. They think it is because the MX record isn’t showing as it is supposed to, but the MX record is correct when viewed within Cloudflare DNS.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I’ve spoken to HostGator a few times and they think the issue is the DNS not pointing to the correct spot. Instead of mail.zubraselectric.com it is something like mail._23324r3wr4zubraselectric.com

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

Mail records

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Unless you have the email account you can’t replicate it. Sometimes received email ends up in the TRASH automatically or they just won’t get the mail. But, they do get other mail, it just isn’t consistent in receiving.

mail.zubraselectric.com is currently proxied. You need to change the DNS record to DNS-Only.

I thought it may be something like that, but for the MX record it does say DNS only. Now there is also an A record for mail.zubraselectric.com, that is proxied.

Yes, anything an MX record points to must be unproxied :grey:.
