What is the issue you’re encountering

Email Routing with iCloud

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Status: I have a cloudflare domain set up norsebjorg and I have successfully linked it to iCloud. Mails to xxx@norsebjorg are reaching my iCloud mail and I can send from iCloud to the outside world using that name.
Yea!!! Victory.
The key was disabling email routing and setting my name to DNS Only proxy status and of course using the MX values from apple.
Q. does this mean I cannot use email routing with iCloud (to take advantage catch all to norsebcom and any other custom addresses?
I did play with the default DNS setting with the default cloudflare MX records and I was able to enable email routing and successfully send emails through to my iCloud account but I can not send from iCloud back out.
This all makes sense but before I do anything else I want to confirm that email routing in cloudflare is not compatible with iCloud (i.e. there is not some other magical procedure out there that would allow me to use catch all and custom addresses)
Thanks!

That is correct, you can’t use email routing and iCloud+ at the same time.

Perfect. Thank you. I just wanted to make sure I understand everything properly. I also see I can get the same results I was looking for on the iCloud side.
