Since setting up the MX record and Cname I get a bounce back error 550 Please ensure SMTP Authentication is enabled.

Make sure you enable SMTP authentication for the SMTP service in your email client.
For Mozilla Thunderbird, it can be done like here:

Alternatively, search in Google for your email program, followed by “enable smtp authentication”, such as e.g. “thunderbird enable smtp authentication” to find instructions for other email clients.
