Must be a valid IPv4 address but IPv4 address is correct

Hello everybody!
I need to add an A record for the subdomain mail of my domain. When I enter the IP address and want to save the entry I get this error message:

DNS Validation Error (Code: 1004): Content for A record is invalid. Must be a valid IPv4 address (Code: 9005)

The IP Address is definitely correct and is 88.198.26.42. I have setup the same entry for another domain also to this IP address and there it is working without problems.

What is the reason for the error message?

That’s weird. When I add that IP address as a ‘mail’ subdomain for one of my domains, it works. I tried :orange: and :grey: and they both accepted the IP address.

Would there happen to already be a DNS record for ‘mail’? You might have to open up a Support ticket to get their help.

Strange I just tried it again and today it is working without any problems.
