Moving to Cloudflare

Hi,

I have three websites that I need to make them load faster and more secure.
I am considering Cloudflare but I don’t know how to configure and what choice is better, functionally and financially.
My sites have new content daily.

Could you guide me through all the processes to use Cloudflare?

Thank you.
Best regards,
Nam

There are many, many, many ways to configure Cloudflare. The Tutorials section at the top of the forum is a great place to start:

Hi sdayman,

Thank you very much for your suggestion.
It’s quite helpful but it’s difficult for me to read through all these links. I don’t have enough knowledge on this field.
Is there a more specific guidance or some kinds of simple options?
For example: what I want is a faster loading and SSL (not a registered trading organisation), and static caching is not a good option because my sites update every few hours.

Thank you.
Best regards,
Nam

Free plan is a great place to start. Beyond that, it’s a matter of customizing for your particular setup. Cloudflare will cache just about everything except for the actual page HTML itself.

If you post the domain, we can offer more specific guidance.

Thank you, sdayman.

Here is my domain: bookhunterclub.com
Please give me some options, paid options included to make it faster and more secure.

If you want it to be more secure, you need to start with an SSL certificate on your web server.

Your site doesn’t look like it has user accounts or comments, so you can do some short term aggressive caching (2 hour expiration) with a Page Rule.

It’s also running WordPress, so you can do a search here for Wordpress + speed (or whatever else you’re researching).

Thank you very much.
And how about this one: foxstudy.org
Could you give me some suggestions as well?

Much appreciated!

That one’s more challenging because it’s WooCommerce, but you can set up a Cloudflare Worker to bypass the aggressive caching for people logged in:

It seems to be understandable but I don’t know how to configure it.
I now use a hosting service called Managed Wordpress - SSD cloud platform with Nginx Edge caching and it seems to be not the best option.
Could you shed some more lights on this site?

Thank you.

I’m not familiar with that one. There are many Managed WordPress companies. Naturally, some are better than others, but cost is a big factor.

I have put my site bookhunterclub.com on Cloudflare and trying to configure it now.
I use better search replace plugin to change http to https, but which tables should I choose or should I choose all of them?

Thank you.

As a side note, Cloudflare doesn’t necessarily make your website load faster or be more secure. In fact, it can very well have the opposite effect in terms of performance. I would suggest that you try turning the orange cloud on and off and test for yourself whether your website loads faster when it’s on the orange cloud. Don’t forget to test the speed of both first and repeat visits.

With regard to security, most of the time it’s trivial to find the IP address of your origin server, even if your domain is protected by Cloudflare.

Thank you.
I have noticed my site runs faster on Cloudflare, but I need to make it consistent for a proper appearance, first by changing http to https.
