I’m trying to move the DNS hosting for a business from its current provider to Cloudflare, but I’m getting an error when trying to setup the “www” CNAME:
DNS Validation Error (Code: 1004) Invalid CNAME target. Cannot use records with partial suffixes.
I’m still waiting to hear back from the office manager on all the contact information for the company who designs / hosts the website (I think it’s Martindale), but Cloudflare is obviously involved as there is a Cloudflare-verify TXT record, and the current CNAME for www points to a Cloudflare CDN.
I found a few posts about fears of circular references being the reason I can’t create the “www” CNAME record at Cloudflare, but what exactly do I need to do to fix this? Thanks in advance, and sorry I can’t post better information regarding the DNS records but CF thinks they are links and won’t let me post, great job guys.
