Moving DNS

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Hi There,

We are looking to transfer the DNS to Cloudflare. However, our IT setup is not straightforward. We have our website on a particular host, while our domain/DNS and emails are controlled by a third party IT support company through Office 365/their own infrastructure.

Our problem seems to be, if we move our DNS to Cloudflare, our IT support team will no longer have access to the DNS. We believe we will lose control of the emails being routed via Office 365/via the internal setup. Unfortunately, our IT company isn’t a web host and do not specialize in websites/domains. So they are not really able to advise us if we move the DNS/they may not want to control our DNS via Cloudflare.

Could someone please shed some light what happens in a situation like this, if me move the DNS to Cloudflare?

Thanks.

Norbert

You can give them access to DNS…

If you just set the same DNS records for web and email as you already have, that should be enough for your email to work anyway without them having access.
