Locked out of my own domain

What is the name of the domain?

www.servicelogic.co.uk

What is the error number?

503

What is the error message?

Service Temporarily Unavailable

What is the issue you’re encountering

Website is not loading. The developer has said the issue is being caused by our PHP server which is no longer supported. They will update the PHP server but this also means updating the whole site at a considerable cost ! The site is hosted on Cloudflare but I do not have access as the developer hosted the site on our behalf. I have requested access from our developer but they have not/will not provide it ? As it stands I have a domain that I pay for but am unable to access. I cant even access the MX records so that I can redirect the site to a holding page until the problem is fixed. At the moment I feel lie I am being held to ransom by Cloudflare and the developer. Does anyone have any suggestions other than me taking legal action which I want to avoid. Any help advise is greatly appreciated.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Spoke to the people the own the domain. I believe they can change the records but by doing so we will also lose email (unless I can get the MX records).

Your site is not hosted on Cloudflare (Cloudflare does not support PHP on its Pages platform) but uses Cloudflare’s DNS and proxy. Cloudflare cannot give you access to another person’s account or the information in it.

If you want to take control of the DNS you will need to change the nameservers at your domain registrar to those for a new Cloudlfare account or other DNS provider and point it to the site, a new site or parking page. Obtaining access to your site’s code is between you and your developer.

Some of the DNS records can be seen here…

Thanks for the detailed information.

I’m not in IT and my original messaged was based on information that was provided to me by or website developer. This doesn’t fill me with confidence though as what they have said contradicts what you have said.

Unfortunately I’m still in the same position and I’m not sure if the information you have provided is sufficient for our registrar to use in order for the change not to effect our email.

My main aim at the moment is to try and change the DNS settings to point our domain to a landing page and still maintain continuity with emails.

Thanks again.
