Load Balancing for Layer4

Hello,

I need more information about Load Balancing.

Is she only for Layer 7 traffic, or will she also be able to route Layer 4 traffic to my application?

I am currently using dns load balancing which is not a good option, but I would like to route traffic to my application servers better.

Exactly I mean TCP traffic to a given port.
