I’ve purchased a domain through cloudfler and then web hosting through Hostgator.I wanted to updated the DNS records on my cloudfler dashboard but couldn’t. I understand that there’s a potential 60 days lock on the domain, and the people at hostgator (live support) pointed me to Cloudflare’s support to help me with setting up new NS. But I don’t find a way to get such support. My question is whether there is a way to get live support. Thanks.
Like chat support?
If so, then at least Business.
However, since:
Currently, Cloudflare Registrar only lets you use Cloudflare name servers.
I am afraid it’s not quite possible to change the domain nameservers for a domain registered at Cloudflare’s Registrar, as it states by the ToS:
You can transfer out the domain to some other registrar, therefore then you will be able to change the nameservers for domain name and point it to your new CF account with the new set of Cloudflare nameservers.
However, I am afraid you’d have to wait some days before you can transfer out since the domain was recently registered (the default domain registry lock period).
I am not familiar, however I’d lookup if I can configure Hostgator without changing nameservers and pointing to them
Meaning, regarding the setup you have, you can use Cloudflare DNS to configure the DNS records and point to the IP address of your Website hosting, therefore keep e-mail DNS records and other stuff at the DNS tab at Cloudflare dashboard working normally without changing nameservers to Hostgator → that way you’d lose Cloudflare (I think?)
You should be able to do this normally
