What is the issue you’re encountering
I’ve been using WARP for a long time on Windows and Android, and I recently switched to Linux. However, I’m really frustrated with the experience here – specifically, the lack of a GUI client for Linux. On Windows, I can see an icon in the system tray that tells me when I’m connected, and if it disconnects, I know immediately. This makes it easy to manage. But on Linux, everything is done through the CLI. If WARP disconnects, I have no idea unless I manually run warp-cli status at regular intervals. Why isn’t there a simple system tray icon to show connection status? Additionally, checking if my WARP+ license is active feels clunky. On Linux, I have to run commands to verify my license status. Do I have to keep checking this manually as well? And here’s what really bothers me: the Zero Trust app has a system tray icon on Linux – even though I don’t use it. After installing warp-cli, I’m now forced to have a Zero Trust icon that doesn’t even have an option to close. Why can’t the WARP client have the same presence if Zero Trust does? This user experience feels neglected on Linux. Cloudflare, you have the resources to make this better. Why not give Linux users a GUI client like everyone else?
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
Checked for GUI options, only found the CLI available. Verified the WARP+ license status manually via CLI.
What are the steps to reproduce the issue?
Use WARP CLI on Linux and experience the limitations compared to Windows/Android clients.
